Visit to Northern Germany
Lucy and Debbie travelled to Northern Germany in March with Japp De Jongia on a fact finding tour around 5 farmhouse cheese makers, starting each day with cheese as part of the continental breakfast.
The cheese makers only sell their cheese to Farm Shops. The Germans eat more than twice as much cheese per person as we do! (Source: Cheeseboard). This indicates we British still have a long way to go in supporting local retailers and eating more cheese for its goodness, not forgetting taste of course!
